Larry Lawton

27 päivää sitten

Take a trip with Larry as he goes back to USP Atlanta Georgia prison. Ex prisoners always get chills when they get near their old haunts and Larry is no different with this Federal Correctional Institution. Do you think the Federal Bureau of Prisons was watching?
Ex Jewel Thief Larry Lawton spent 11 years in prison and now helps people make better decisions and fights for prison reform. #Lawton #Prison #Mob

Just remember the word "penitentiary" is a reference to animals. Its gets a bit deeper but that's one basic reason that the system is structured for back-door slavery that things are the way they are.

Lol if you make it over that 40’ wall they know that fencing is not going to slow you down. That fencing was to limit the amount of drugs and weapons coming in air mail over the wall.

I'd love to see what it looks like from the inside. I did Google search but it came up with nothing. I just want to clarify I don't think people should be incarcerated in this building, it should be a museum.

All that money they spent on that fancy administration building probably could’ve been spent to fix all the damn blind spots or to start rehabilitation programs... or to just make it a prison instead of looking like a tourist attraction.

Almost a year in the holdover, came in '96 in a high profile case with two good brothers and we all did close to 4 months solitary, no bath, no phone, green mold cheese block sandwiches twice a day. Willie Scott had just came in right before we got there and between the stabbing of that guard and crack verses cocaine case Scott kept it mostly lock downed. All in all I was there about a year total and once the case was over got the hell out of there and ended up in Talladega, One of my bros went to Jessup from 97 to 2000. I have drove by the place a few times over the years. Saw some crazy shit there.

What i learned: Summer: you will sweat your balls off Winter: you will freeze your balls off
I went through Atlanta Holdover. It was definitely the worst part of my journey through the system. Almost all of the jumpsuits they issued were torn or modified in someway. No issued shower shoes, some people who brought some from wherever they were before got to have em, but that's it. Speaking of showers, there were only two ahiwers that worked while I was there, and with very little rec, well, I didn't end up getting a single shower in while I was there. No lights in the shower either. Was there a week and we had no rec for the whole day about 3 out of those days, I think there was only one day where we had full rec. It was also not very well taken care of, you could tell how old the place was and how little they cared about maintaining it. I will say, in the mornings they had this banana bread usually, it was decent, that's the only good thing I can say about the place.

I did a few days here and there in L.A. county, never did any real time. But the reason I didn't is because I grew up in the hood around many people who've been to prison. I was taught since I can remember the rules of prison which are basically the same rules as the street. I love listening to your stories because it reminds me of growing up. Prison stories are the best. I seriously avoided going to prison because I spent my life listening to prison stories. The first time I got arrested at 14 I knew what to do. I asked for a lawyer, answered no questions. My lawyer told me everything that happened because my friend ratted. I was fucked but less fucked because I got a lawyer. I ended up with a lot of community service and probation. My point is without prison stories I would have done a year in camp at 14. I love your stories and your cause. I have many friends and family with prison stories and yours are up there with the best. Keep doing what you're doing.
